MSc Scholarships in Netherlands

The Technische Universiteit Eindhoven annually awards around 50 scholarships to highly talented non-EEA students who would like to follow a Master’s program at TU/e.

Eligible students

In order to be eligible for selection by the TU/e selection committee, candidates should:

have applied for admission to a TU/e master’s program before 1 March 2007 for the academic year 2007/2008
have a GPA score of at least 75%
have the nationality of a non-EEA (European Economic Area) country
not be eligible for support under the Dutch system of study grants and loans ("Studiefinanciering"). Information on eligibility for this support can be found on the website of the Informatie Beheer Groep (www.ib-groep.nl). Please note that students who need to apply for a MVV for study are not eligible for support under the Dutch system of study grants and loans.
comply with the Dutch visa criteria
not have been granted a scholarship by any other scholarship organization.

Amount of the scholarship

This scholarship is worth a total of 17,000 euros per year. Students can use this amount to cover their tuition fees, international travel (at the beginniing and end of the study), insurance, accomodation costs and living costs.

How many scholarships are available?

The TU/e awards a scholarship to 50 talented non-EEA students who have been admitted to one of the eligible master’s programs. (This number has yet to be confirmed for 2007/2008.)

Duration of scholarship

Scholarships are awarded for 2 years, depending on the academic achievements of the student. The student’s academic results will be assessed in Spring 2008.

Application procedure

All non-EEA students applying for a TU/e master’s program will automatically be entered in the selection procedure for a TU/e scholarship. There is no application form for this scholarship. Students must have applied for admission to a TU/e master’s program before 1 March 2007.

Selection procedure

Students who fulfill the requirements mentioned above will be assessed by a TU/e selection committee. This committee will select the scholarship candidates on the basis of academic performance in and the quality of their previous education, and on the results of any tests required for admission. Successful scholarship candidates will be informed in mid May 2007.

Please note:

Scholarships are awarded for a specific Master’s program for the academic year 2007/2008 and cannot be transferred to other Master’s programs or another academic year.
TU/e scholarships are not available for master’s students who are already enrolled at TU/e.
