Graduate research assistantships in environmental fluid dynamics are available at the Physics Department at the University of Toronto for students beginning in August 2007. We are looking for highly motivated graduate students for projects involving laboratory, field and computational studies of environmental fluid dynamics. Possible projects involve the dispersion of fish larvae and invasive species in the Great Lakes, or field and laboratory observations of turbulent mixing in the stratified thermocline.
The candidates should have a good mathematical and computational background, and preferably a degree in physics, mathematics or engineering. The student must qualify for admission into the Masters or PhD physics program at the University of Toronto. Interested students should contact Dr. Wells (wells@utsc.utornoto.ca) at the Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences, University of Toronto at Scarborough, Toronto, Canada.
