PhD, Ecotoxicological Modelling

The main objective is to provide new stochastic approaches for the identification of probable cause-effect relationships on the basis of large data sets of chemical pollution, habitat, toxicity and biological inventories. This will include integrated diagnostic models for the identification of probable causes as well as predictive component models for the prediction of effects of individual toxicants and mixtures on biodiverstity. The project will include the compilation of the dataset (metadatabase). Missing data has to be collected/simulated from other network partners and case studies responsible persons. Predictive models are developed to simulate the effects of toxicants or environmental factors on biota communities and to test different scenarios of chemical factor changes.

Formation requirements: Degree in Mathematics or Biology. The position requieres good knowledge in statistics and modelling. Basic knowledge in ecology together with skills in ecotoxicology is preferable. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, with interest in collaborative research. A good English level is required.

Nationality requirements: Non-French nationality, double nationality filling rule nº 2 or French nationality filling rule nº 3.
