I’m seeking a highly motivated M.S student to join my laboratory in the Department of Ecology at Montana State University in the fall of 2008. The student will have freedom to develop his/her own project, but will likely conduct research in one of the following areas:
• Stream ecosystem responses to changing riparian communities in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem
• Geothermal effects on ecological stoichiometry of stream food webs
• Variation in primary and secondary production among habitat types in large alluvial rivers.
Candidates must have a B.S. in biology or ecology, prior research experience in aquatic systems, strong written and communication skills, and a solid work ethic. Interested applicants should send an email to me, Dr. Wyatt Cross (wyatt.cross@montana.edu) with a cover letter and resume detailing information on educational background, research interests, and long-term goals.
