The main objective is to improve our abilities to diagnose the influence of specific environmental toxicants on fish and to assess the influence of combinations of stressors. To this end, the aim of this PhD project will be to develop molecular biomarker methodologies using novel genomics technologies such as microarrays, and use them in combination with conventional toxicity endpoints in fishes. This research project is also aiming to explore the potential of this approach as bioanalytical tool in effect-oriented key toxicant identification.
