PhD Position in Applied Math at TU Braunschweig, Germany

The Institute for Analysis and Algebra at the TU Braunschweig offers a PhD position (salary according to TV-L EG 13). The position starts at September 1st, 2009 (earlier start is possible) and is limited to two years but extension is possible.

We offer:
Possibility for a PhD thesis under supervision of Prof. Lorenz in an active field of applied analysis (inverse problems, signal and image processing).

Requirements:
Degree in mathematics above average, interest in applied mathematics and high commitment for a successful PhD.

Advantages:
Very good knowledge in functional analysis and numerical mathematics. Practical experience in implementation of mathematical algorithms. Good knowledge of English and German.

The responsibilities also include work in teaching and research in the institute.
